Castor Oil

Castor Oil is obtained from the seeds of the plant Ricinus communis and is rich in fatty acids. It is a humectant that attracts moisture to the skin, and is soothing and lubricating. Castor Oil is ideally suited for use within hair oils, balms, and other thick emulsions intended for the skin and hair. In combination with other oils and as a superfatting agent, Castor Oil lends emolliency to soap formulations. It also acts as a protective barrier on your skin that will protect against harsh environmental conditions. It is one of the few oils that can be used as an emulsifying agent. By design, Castor Oil will remain on the surface of the skin, acting as a barrier.
